Case #3 : Jason M.

Jason M. is an ex-water polo player who dislocated his shoulder three years ago. His shoulder was painful and felt unstable.

Jason was seen by his orthopedic surgeon, who referred him for a shoulder MRI. We injected his shoulder joint to distend it, and carefully adjusted the MRI parameters to his body size and weight. The Arthroscan MRI demonstrated a clear posterior labral tear.

With this information, Jason’s orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery. One month later, he was taken to the operating room, where the MRI findings were confirmed by the surgeon:

“The posterior labrum was torn with separation from the glenoid”

The labral tear was successfully repaired.
